A little bit of soccer at PT today. Of course, goals must be scored with both the left and right legs which was great because Dad was in the cheering section.
Lauren is having Meghan practice walking without a cane. It is difficult to watch her struggle to re-learn something that most of us take for granted. It leaves me in awe at the complexity of the human brain--which controls so many of these basic functions. It gives me such a sense of gratitude for the body and what it can do, with some genuine effort!
We ended a great weekend with a pizza from Little Italy and a game of "In A Pickle" which had us all in giggles. Sadly the night ended with tears, as we dropped Dad and Brianna off at the airport. As we drove away, Meghan says "Goodbyes stink.....All because of this evil tumor." One more month in Boston, Meghan. Today was treatment #8--our last treatment is scheduled for May 5th. Now we just have to get this CSF leak under control.

We are updating the prayer request: Please let the neurosurgeon figure out where the leakage is coming from, and let him be able to fix it without re-opening her head (for the 6th time).

Hey Miss Meghan and cheering crew-
ReplyDeleteLook at you go with those PT moves. You are such an inspiration to so many. Keep getting strong kiddo.
On the school front, Mrs. Stege decked out her Cowboy Santa stocking with Easter Bunny Ears. It was definitely laugh worthy. I don't know how we will top that decoration without any holiday in sight. Those stockings will remain hanging in the 7th grade house until you come pull them off our door!! Another funny CMS thing, on April Fool's Day some of the office staff fooled me. They filled my office with all the fake plants/trees in the building, so it looked like I worked in a jungle.
Glad to see that "In a Pickle" is making you giggle, I loved seeing that smile on your face with Dad and your sister close by in those pictures.
We think of you daily-
Love, Miss Coggins
We think about you always, thank you for keeping us posted. We will continue the prayers and can't wait to see you again soon! Jan
ReplyDeleteHi Meghan! Good job with the soccer:) Maybe we play against each other when u get home. Here, there was a big kids versus adults soccer game, and the kids won! We were so excited. -Riley
ReplyDeleteMeg someday you and i will be playing soccer again. So in Ela we are working on poems and listen to this one i wrote.
ReplyDeleteSpring
The daffodils are in bloom sending out a massage spring is here,
The birds singing in the trees that are starting to bud, singing spring is here,
All the while kids, cooped up inside,
taking test after test
no time to play outisde
and anxiously waiting results
even though spring is here.
*sob* that just touches my heart. Meg just want to remind you that you are taking your own tests and even if im not there to help you "study" my heart will always be with you.
your BFFEAEAEAEAEAEAEAEAEAEAEAEAE,
Mallory
Hey Meghan:
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great visit with your family. You are right, goodbyes stink! Just think about all of the big HELLOS waiting for you when you get home! Keep up the great work. We are thinking about you and praying that you chase that bacteria out of town (wow, Mom, way to go on the remedy!). Hoping the CSF leak is found and there's an easy fix.
Hang in there, Kiddo!
Love, Krista, Kat and the Bellings
