It’s so easy in life for us to receive blessings, many of them almost uncounted, and have things happen in our lives
that can help change our lives, improve our lives, and bring the Spirit into our lives.
But we sometimes take them for granted.
How grateful we should be for all have been brought into our hearts and souls.

DECEMBER'S HEALTH RECAP
EYES: Eyes appear to be normal. Thank you
FACE: Her face only showing minor asymmetry. Speech is understandable, although not well defined pitch and rhythm.
LEFT ARM: Physical therapy says that all the muscles in the left arm fire appropriately but the brain will not automatically command the arm to function. Meghan has to consciously ask the arm to move. Time for drastic measures.
LEFT LEG: Balance, stability and speed have improved. Walking is still challenging as it has not yet become involuntary: She has to concentrate on lifting her toe. But she can maneuver where ever she needs to go, and she has independence.

MEMORY: Has improve drastically but Meghan still struggles with remembering days of the week, and where family members are. Educational learning is the biggest challenge: We have modified her school schedule four times already since September but school is difficult for Meghan. We are starting to see other issues arise such as processing and recall issues. This is still the main focus of our prayers. This is the most frustrating part of all for Meghan.
JUNE'S HEALTH RECAP
EYES: Functioning well. She can read again! This is an answer to prayer and we are very grateful.
FACE: Her face is more symmetrical than it has been in 4 months. She can equalize a smile, with minor effort.
LEFT ARM: Not too much improvement here. Shoulder and elbow can lift the arm halfway. Pinky finger and thumb can wiggle just a tiny bit
LEFT LEG: Balance and stability is progressing well. Mean ole' Mom took away her cane while she's wearing the brace. Her endurance is getting longer. No more wheelchairs or cart rides through Wegmans. We walk everywhere, slowly.
MEMORY: Getting better since we have been home. I would call the memory "sporadic". Sometimes she remembers things well, other times....nothing. Recall is much easier now, it only takes 1 hint now.

ReplyDeleteHope all is well. You are working on your short term memory, so is Grant. I have found that he does not organize information well and new information does not stay in his short term memory long. But there is always hope and hard work. Love you so much you are such an example of hard work and happiness. Nora can't wait to see you. We have renamed her to Shriek. She screams all the time. When Grant is touching her, when he is not. When she wants something or doesn't want something. I am hoping she is a early talker. Uncle Jeff says, "Can't you make her stop!" Like right Uncle Jeff.
Feel better. i got two ouchies on me today from falling off a bike at Aunt Mindi's--one is a shiner, smack-dab on my forehead. Aunt Mindi gave me ice cream to make me feel better. It worked. My mom was wondering how good her home insurance policy is.....hmmmm! YOu're a good girl. See you soon!!
